“My Lord and My God”
John 20: 24-28, Romans 12:1
Introduction: When Thomas “the doubter” believed, he confessed Jesus as “My Lord and my God.” (John 20:28)
I. Seeing the Risen Savior convinced Thomas that “He is Lord” (John 20:28)
II. His confession of Jesus as “Lord” described a personal relationship that changed his life. (Romans 12: 1-2)
III. If Jesus is Lord at all, He is Lord of all.(Romans 12:1-2)
A. Lord of our “bodies” (Rom. 12:1)
B. Lord of our mind. (Rom. 12:2, I Cor. 2:16)
C. Lord of our emotions (John 14:27, 15:11, Phil. 4:7)
D. Lord of our wills. (Matt. 26:39,42, John 20: 25, 28)
Conclusion: When Thomas confessed Jesus as Lord, he gave Him his body and his will, and eventually gave his life as a missionary to India.
