Introduction: Jesus was a Realist and He told us the absolute truth. Here He describes the kingdom as good and evil together.
I. Wheat and Tares (Matthew 13:24,27)
A. Why is there evil in the world and in “the kingdom?” (Matt. 13: 24, 27)
- “Tares” are not real Christians. (Matt. 13: 38, John 13:35)
- “Tares” aren’t Jesus’ fault. (Matthew 13:24)
- “Tares” are the work of the evil one. (Matthew 13:25)
- Real Christians do exist alongside counterfeit ones. (Matt. 13:26)
B. A time of separation.(Matthew 13: 29-30)
- Not our job! (Matthew 13:29)
- Angels will (Matthew 13:30, 39-42)
*stumbling blocks (Matthew 13:41)
*lawlessness (Matthew 13:41)
*a furnace of fire (Matthew 13:42)
- The Righteous will shine. (Matthew 13:43)
II. Good fish and bad. (Matthew 13: 47-50)
- Now is the time for gathering. (Matthew 13: 47)
- All kinds get caught. (Matthew 13:47)
*Don’t clean before you catch them.
- A time of separation (Matthew 13: 49-50)
